PhD Nguyen Van Tan Shares at the Conference on Innovative Entrepreneurship: “Digital Competency – The Key to Success in the Industry 4.0 Era

On the morning of 4 October 2025, at Hall A3, the Dong Nai Campus of Vietnam National University of Forestry, the Conference on Innovative Entrepreneurship themed “Applying Digital Skills in Entrepreneurship and Career Development” took place in a dynamic atmosphere, attracting representatives from departments and agencies, enterprises, along with numerous lecturers, students, and experts in the field of innovative entrepreneurship.

The conference was organized by the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology in coordination with the Dong Nai Campus of Vietnam National University of Forestry, aiming to enhance digital capacity and foster entrepreneurial spirit among students in the era of digital transformation.

🔹 PhD Nguyen Van Tan – An Inspiring Figure at the Thematic Session

At Thematic Session 3 titled “Digital Competency Framework for Students in the Context of Digital Transformation,” PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Dean of The Faculty of Administration International Economics, Lac Hong University, and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Innovative Startup Advisory Council – delivered an impressive presentation, providing valuable and practical information for participants.

In his presentation, PhD Nguyen Van Tan introduced the Digital Competency Framework for Learners issued under Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BGDĐT dated 24 January 2025, effective from 11 March 2025. Accordingly, “digital competency is not merely the ability to use technology, but the capacity to apply digital technology to accomplish tasks, solve practical problems, and create new value.”

This Digital Competency Framework is comprehensively designed, including:

• 03 core elements,

• 06 competency domains,

• 24 component competencies,

• Divided into 04 proficiency levels (from basic to advanced), corresponding to 08 developmental levels of competency.

PhD Tan further contextualized this model by linking it to training practices at Lac Hong University and collaborative programs aimed at developing students’ digital competencies.

In particular, he shared the “Digital Competency Framework for Forestry Students” – a practical application version that helps learners clearly identify their current competency level and determine appropriate development directions for the future.

🔹 A Special Gift – Free Access to an AI Technology Course

In addition to providing in-depth knowledge, PhD Nguyen Van Tan presented all attending students with a free access link to an Artificial Intelligence (AI) course, accompanied by an international certificate sponsored by Google and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

This meaningful gift not only enables students to access advanced technological knowledge but also reflects PhD Tan’s dedication to inspiring lifelong learning and equipping the younger generation with comprehensive digital competencies.

During the dialogue session moderated by PhD Nguyen Van Tan, speakers from the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association, and the Long Thanh Innovation Center discussed:

• Enterprise demands in the digital era;

• Directions for developing digitally competent young human resources;

• Solutions for strengthening connections among government, universities, enterprises, and the community within the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The discussion became particularly engaging as students actively posed questions and shared perspectives on innovative entrepreneurship, demonstrating their eagerness to learn and innovate.

The conference concluded with a cooperation signing ceremony among training institutions, enterprises, and management agencies, opening up new opportunities for developing a young workforce that is digitally competent, creative, and resilient.
