[Tourism and Travel Management] 5 Reasons to Study Tourism and Travel Management at LHU

Dong Nai – The “Green Lung” of the Southeast Region

Dong Nai possesses strong potential for ecotourism, reflected in its rich natural and biological diversity. Notably, it features a dense system of rivers, streams, and waterfalls, along with more than 60 tourism sites and destinations such as Cu Lao Pho Tourist Area, Cu Lao Ba Xe; Suoi Mo, Suoi Reo; Da Ton Lake Tourist Area, Nuoc Nong Lake; Mai Waterfall, Troi Waterfall; Cat Tien National Park Tourist Area; Phuoc Thai mangrove forest, and others.

In addition, Dong Nai has extensive and diverse forest resources. The province currently has 150,000 hectares of forest with many rare species of flora and fauna that are facing the risk of extinction. The natural watershed forest ecosystem plays a vital role in regulating water in the Dong Nai River basin, supplying fresh water during the dry season and limiting flooding during the rainy season for the entire Southeast region. Therefore, Dong Nai is known as the “green lung” of the region.

Moreover, PhD Ta Duy Linh, Director of the Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research (Ho Chi Minh City), stated that Dong Nai possesses all the necessary elements to create a true community tourism supply chain. The people of Dong Nai have a strong spirit for tourism development.

The Demand for Tourism Human Resources in Dong Nai Is Extremely High

Mr. Huynh Dan – Operations Manager of Fruit Farm – is always seeking talented students to work at the farm. “We do not care who you are or where you come from. What matters to us is your attitude toward work. We do not require excessively high academic qualifications; we value confidence, professionalism, and respect for those around you. Skills can be developed. If your skills are not yet strong but you are eager to learn, we are willing to support you in building a solid foundation. If you aspire to develop long-term and become a professional tour guide, senior staff members are ready to guide you step by step. Even if you studied a different major, whether Marketing, Law, or any other field, as long as you have a passion for tourism and for what the farm is doing, we are ready to support you from zero experience through practical exposure and hands-on practice.”

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang – Head of Business Department of Thai Loan Travel Company – expressed his desire to recruit students who are passionate about tourism to join Thai Loan Travel. “The company collaborates with Lac Hong University to create opportunities for Lac Hong students to work in positions such as tour guide, office staff, and business staff.”

Lecturers Contributing to Tourism Development Research in Long Khanh

PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Dean of The Faculty of Administration International Economics – stated that Long Khanh City has strong potential for sustainable and long-term development of the “smokeless industry,” contributing to employment and social welfare for local residents. Therefore, since 2022, lecturers of the program have regularly participated in meetings to implement the tourism development project for Long Khanh City, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Long Khanh City. This demonstrates that the role of the Tourism and Travel Management program at Lac Hong University extends beyond training human resources for local tourism; it also reflects the dedication of lecturers and students to provincial development, job creation for local residents, and socio-economic development nationwide, particularly in Dong Nai.
