At the final round of the 2025 Scientific Research Award for Students in Higher Education Institutions, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and hosted by Nha Trang University, the student research team from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Lac Hong University, achieved the Second Prize at the national level in the field of economics and social sciences.

The award-winning research project, titled: “The impact of digital financial inclusion and financial development on global unemployment rates: Lessons for Vietnam,”
was conducted by two students, Tran Duy Thanh and Nguyen Vu Hoai Dong (class 22NH111), under the supervision of Dr. Nguyen Van Hai and MSc. Le Quoc Dinh.

This year’s competition attracted 628 research projects from 128 universities nationwide. Only 125 projects were selected for the final round, and the student team from Lac Hong University was among the few representatives in the economics and social sciences category invited to present directly before the national evaluation committee.

During more than two years of study at the university, Tran Duy Thanh and Nguyen Vu Hoai Dong consistently demonstrated academic commitment, research initiative, and active engagement in student activities. They regularly participated in academic seminars, corporate workshops, and faculty research events, while maintaining strong academic performance and contributing to student union activities.

The evaluation committee highly appreciated the project for its relevance, rigorous research methodology, and the ability to apply academic knowledge to Vietnam’s real-world context. The achievement also reflects the Faculty of Finance – Accounting’s emphasis on practice-oriented learning and the integration of scientific research into its training programs.

This award is not only a proud achievement of the student team, but also a significant milestone for the Faculty and Lac Hong University in fostering high-quality human resources with the capability for independent research and global integration.

The success of this project serves as motivation for future cohorts to continue pursuing academic excellence, scientific research, and innovation, contributing to the development of the university and the academic community.
